As a small business owner there are a myriad of tasks to accomplish. Most of the time computer technology "stuff" gets lost in the shuffle of your day to day operation. As one who knows how this happens to small business owners, I truly understand and can sympathize with you.
However, this blog is your WARNING! This blog is your reminder to take care of something which can cripple your business and leave you wondering why you didn't act in a timely manner.

What am I talking about?
Information Technology Documentation
In layman's terms, this means to document everything you might ever need to know concerning your computer(s) and network(s). Here is a short list of items your small business needs to document:
Usernames and passwords of servers, desktop PCs, tablets, routers, email accounts, domain accounts, wireless information, copier logins and any other service which requires a login. You will also want to document ISP network settings as well as local internet settings for every piece of equipment on your network.
Finally, if your small business employs a third party to keep all this information, demand your copy and test each and every entry. The last scenario your business needs is to have your information incomplete or innaccurate in a time of emergency.
